So much cuteness

I can hardly contain myself.
Spoken like a true Mama.  ;)

I just love that mischievous grin.

And I love these chubby cheeks.

Is there anything cuter in this world than ruffled socks on baby girls?  Well, those chubby thighs might be a close second.  :)

And this face!  Ahhhh, be still my heart.  This is what she does when brother gets too rough.  It's her warning that she is about to cry.  How can you resist this face?!?

 Will obviously can't.

Oops!

We went to tour a Mother's Day Out program for Will today and I may or may not have teared up at the thought of leaving my baby in the care of someone else for 5 hours a day, twice a week.  ha!  Don't worry, Curt has already made fun of me.  ;)

He's getting way too big way too fast.  (Will, not Curt ;)

Oh, the irony

This little sweetheart is 6 1/2 weeks old and slept for 6 1/2 hours straight last night.  That's a new record, and is technically considered sleeping through the night.  Woohoo!  She's such a good baby.  She had been sleeping in 5 hour increments at night, but she decided to be an overachiever last night, and bumped it up a little bit.  So proud of my sweet girl.

This little sweetheart has been sleeping for 12 hours straight at night since he was around 3 months old.  He hasn't woken up during the night (with the exception of when we were traveling and he was in a different bed) since October 2009 (when he was around 6 months old).  He's a good sleeper.  Last night, however, he decided to wake up in the middle of the night and cry out for Mommy and Daddy.  After a few minutes of crying, we decided we should go check on him since it was so unusual.  Curt went to get him, and Will didn't have a dirty diaper, he wasn't running a fever, and there didn't appear to be anything wrong with him.  He  told Curt he wanted milk and to rock.  So Curt got him some milk and rocked him until he asked to go back to bed.  Thankfully, he slept the remainder of the night, but he is incredibly irritable today--no doubt due to the sleep interruption he had last night.  He refused to eat lunch today and requested to take a nap at 11 (instead of noon).  He clearly is regretting his decision to wake everyone up in the middle of the night.  :)

Isn't that the strangest thing?  On the same night Kate finally sleeps through the night, Will decides not to.  Crazy.  I think they got together before bed time last night and conspired against us.  ;)

Weekend Pictures

We had a very relaxing weekend at our house.  We had no plans and, other than a few errands, we just spent the weekend enjoying our sweet little family.

This about sums up our weekend...

I would have more pictures of Will, but he is just so hard to get a picture of these days.  Here are a few attempts to get my little monkey after church on Sunday...

All I ended up with was 20 bad pictures and one irritated toddler.  :)  Not even one grin!  Oh well, at least his sister is more compliant...

Sunday was such a pretty afternoon so we got to enjoy our first walk with both babies!

Too bad it only lasted about 5 minutes...
So Kate got to be held the entire walk.  It's so funny because Curt and I always say that Kate reminds us so much of Prissy because she is such a good eater and sleeper.  When I was carrying Kate during our walk, I was taken back to many a walks we had with Prissy where she would beg to go and then beg to be carried 3 minutes in.  Ha!  We miss that sweet dog.

I had to include this pic of my girl.  I seriously could kiss those chubby little cheeks all day.  I love this little sweetheart so much!

Definitely Siblings

Every time I look at Kate, I see my sweet Will as a baby.  It is crazy to us how much alike they look.  Judge for yourself...

After Kate was born, they whisked her away to clean her off and I couldn't see her.  I kept asking Curt what she looked like because he could see her.  The first thing he said was that she looked just like Will.  I guess it's a good thing we think Will is pretty cute.  ;)

Kate was bigger when she was born (she weighed almost a pound more), so she had chubbier cheeks.  She also had a little more hair and is a little darker than Will. Other than that, they look so much alike to us!

Although they look alike, they could not be more different babies.  They are both very good sleepers, but Will  was much more alert and--for lack of a better word--high-maintenance.  Not in a bad way, but he always wanted to be doing something if he was awake.  He was an easy baby, but Kate puts him to shame.  ha!  She is so laid-back and nothing seems to phase her.  I can't wait to see how their personalities change as they grow!

Valentine's Day

So I dropped the ball on Valentine's Day.  I planned on having cute outfits for both of my sweet babies to wear, but it just didn't happen.  I didn't get anything ordered online in time and I knew better than to go shopping with my two sweeties in tow.  So Will had his first holiday where he was not dressed accordingly.  Gasp!  If that's my biggest worry, I would say that I have a pretty easy life.  ;)

Kate actually did have cute little Valentine's pj's, but I didn't buy them for her, they were a gift.  So don't think I bought something for her and not Will.  :)

Both of the kids did get plenty of gifts though.  I thought it was funny that both grandparents sent something Toy Story-related for Will (among other things). Can you tell we are going through a major Toy Story phase here?  My parents got him a Buzz toy and Curt's parents got him a Toy Story book.  I let Will watch Toy Story while I am feeding Kate and I can literally quote every line of all 3 movies.  ;)

This picture makes me laugh.  If you have seen the first Toy Story, you know that when Andy got the new Buzz toy, he threw Woody on the ground and Woody was heartbroken.  Will did the same thing (you can see Woody laying on the ground in the picture above).  Poor Woody!  Okay, enough about Toy Story.  My how life has changed since having kids.  ha!

And Will, of course, loved all of his Valentine chocolate.  I haven't even given him the chocolate I got him yet since he got so much from Nana and Papa.  It was the first thing he asked for when he woke up this morning.  :)

After we finish our Valentine's chocolate, we are all going on a no-sugar diet for the next month!

Curt had been out of town for a couple of days, so it was so nice to have him home last night.  We made a nice dinner and he got me some great gifts.  He's such a good Valentine!  But the best thing about him is that he makes me feel loved every day of the year, not just on Valentine's Day.

We had taken a break from playgroup while Kate was so small since it was flu season, but we went today for the first time with both kids.  She, apparently, wasn't near as excited about it as I was.  She slept through the whole thing and didn't even get out of her carrier.  She acts like it wore her out though because she is still sleeping!  Such a little Diva. :)

1 Month Old

Kate turned 1 month old on Saturday.  We have been enjoying this sweet child soooo much.  This month has just flown by!  It feels like we just brought her home from the hospital yesterday!  We have gotten into a nice little schedule though and everyone has adjusted wonderfully!  She nurses every 2-3 hours during the day and is starting to sleep in longer increments at night.  The little girlfriend certainly doesn't miss a meal.  When she decides she is hungry, I only have about 30 seconds to do something about it before she tries to alert the neighbors.  ;)  The past 4 nights she has only woken up twice to nurse and went right back to sleep.  I am loving the extra sleep!  She still sleeps most of the day too.  When she is awake, she loves to just lay there and listen to us talk/sing to her.  She is so low maintenance right now.  I am embarrassed to admit how many times Curt and I have looked at each other and said "Where's Kate?  I thought you had her."  ha!

I am LOVING that she is a little Mama's girl right now.  Will never really seemed to prefer me over Curt (or vice versa) when he was a baby, but Kate seems to prefer Mama.  It is so sweet!

Kate has just started to take a pacifier and seems to like it.  The only troubling thing we have noticed about her is that she doesn't seem to care for her car seat.  Will loved his car seat and would sleep in it for hours.  Kate, on the other hand, only lasts about 5 minutes.  This could make for some interesting grocery store trips.  We'll see how it goes when we go on our first road trip in the next couple of weeks.  :)

Kate is just such an easy baby.  She is a little joy.  It has been so fun watching her grow this month.  I forgot how quickly newborns steal your heart.  This little girl certainly has captured all of ours!

We love you sweet girl!
